Chilli Con Carne


We have decided to take part in another cooking competition called

Quick and Easy.

"Get in the kitchen and show us what you can do!

Kačka Karásková has made spicy mexican meal CHILLI CON CARNE.

Ingredients:
·        2 cans red kidney beans
·        1 tablespoon vegetable oil
·        1 large onion,
·        1 can tomatoes
·        1 can mild green chile peppers
·        2 teaspoons finely chopped jalapeno chile pepper
·        1 can tomato sauce
·        1 tablespoon chili powder
·        1 1/2 teaspoons salt
·        dash pepper
·        dash ground cloves
·        1 small bay leaf
Preparation:
Brown the onion in a large pan.
Add pepper and  beef. 
Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings. 
Cover and simmer, adding a little water if needed to keep from sticking. 
Check and stir frequently. 
Add the  canned beans and heat through.

Potato Croquettes

Would you like to have some junk food?
Have some Potato Croquettes!



Ingredients:


400
grams
potato
160
grams
bread crumbs
150
grams
plain flour
120
mls
milk
2
eggs
egg
(100 grams)
2 1/4
teaspoons
butter
(10 grams)
1/16
teaspoon
salt
(0.4 grams)


RECIPE:


Peel and boil the potatoes.

Now half of the eggs as egg yolk and keep mashing
Mash the potatos, add the salt  and butter and start mashing.
Slowly add milk and keep mashing the mixture until is is very smooth and creamy - and not too liquid!  
Slowly add the flour  until the mixture.
Form balls of the mixture and put them on a wooden board.  
Let them sit in the fridge for half an hour.   
Put the other egg on a plate. 
Mix with a fork.    
Take another plate and put breadcrumbs on it. 
Take each individual croquette, turn it in the whisked egg so it is completely coated in egg and then in the breadcrumbs . 
Put the breaded croquettes into the pan - after about 2 minutes, they should be golden brown

Fairy cakes

Who says Fairy Cakes are just for children?
 Let´s try JAMIE OLIVIER´S FAIRY CAKES!!!


INGREDIENTS
·   225g butter
·        225g caster sugar
·        4 large eggs
·        225g flour
·        1 lemon

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C

2. Beat the butter and sugar together, until very light and fluffy. Add the eggs and the flour.

3. Place  paper cake cases into muffin tins. Use tablespoons to evenly divide the mixture between the paper cases. Put the muffin tins into the oven and bake for 15 minutes.You can check to see if the cakes are cooked by sticking a cocktail stick right into one of them.

4. Remove the cakes from the tins and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
